September 10, 2015 – Monthly Meeting – Trinidad & Tabago

Speakers: Cindy Franklin and Michael Linz

Eighteen people accompanied Dr. R. Kannan’s latest fund raising trip to Trinidad & Tobago in May for the Arkansas Audubon Society’s Trust.  Accompanying in that group were some of Arkansas Audubon Society’s best photographers-Mitchell Pruitt, David Oakley, and Michael Linz. We saw 46 out of Kannan’s top 50 target birds.  Many photos were taken, and fun was had.  Michael & Cindy will talk about the trip and show outstanding photos of some really neat birds.
Cindy is a retired VA nurse. Her yard has become a more bird friendly environment over time with a focus on pollinators, hummingbirds, and native plants. She birds in her spare time and occasionally takes some decent photos.

Michael recently retired from a career in Information Technology. While in college he developed an interest in photography, which has focused on bird photography over the past few years. He began “birding” in 2008 and became a “lister” in 2012. In 2014 he began birding outside the boundaries of Arkansas.
